Turn site conditions into a quote-ready drive brief

Engineering support is organized around the decisions that affect fit, commissioning, and delivery—not around a generic catalog handoff.

Drive engineer reviewing wiring and motor data

New Application Review

We structure rated voltage, motor current, load profile, speed range, overload duty, braking, and ingress protection into a comparable request. The review also records PLC protocol, analog and digital I/O, safety functions, cable distance, and EMC measures. This does not replace final engineering approval; it reduces missing inputs before a series is proposed.

Installed-Base Replacement

Replacement planning begins with the complete model code, nameplate photographs, control terminal schedule, option cards, parameter backup, and mechanical envelope. We flag where a like-for-like replacement may still require wiring, network, cooling, or enclosure changes. A shutdown and rollback plan remains the site owner’s responsibility.

Documentation Coordination

Requested manuals, wiring references, alarm information, and series-specific approval documents are tied to the quoted item. Certification statements are not generalized across a family. For global projects, the target market and control-panel standard are recorded before documents are assembled.

Delivery and Handover

Commercial follow-through covers quoted configuration, accessories, requested delivery date, shipment status, and document handover. If an exact configuration is constrained, alternatives are compared against electrical rating, control compatibility, footprint, and commissioning impact rather than price alone.

Questions before selection

Common project clarifications

A concise answer depends on the precise VFD series and site data. These checkpoints identify where an application engineer needs evidence.

No. Motor current, supply, overload duty, ambient temperature, altitude, switching frequency, and load behavior can change the usable rating.

No. Ingress protection addresses entry of solids or water; it does not eliminate heat dissipation, spacing, or ambient derating requirements.

Only after mapping firmware, motor data, I/O, fieldbus, safety, and function differences. Preserve a validated backup and rollback path.

From incomplete inquiry to controlled handover

Before review

  • Motor kW without full nameplate current
  • Unknown duty and ambient conditions
  • Unverified option cards or protocol
  • No parameter backup or shutdown window

After review

  • Electrical and mechanical inputs recorded
  • Application limits identified for engineering approval
  • Accessories and documents tied to configuration
  • Commissioning owner and rollback steps named

Prepare the application brief

Share available information; missing inputs will be returned as a short checklist before configuration review.
